The Adopt-A-Mile Program is a partnership between Keep Pinellas Beautiful (KPB), Pinellas County and local residents. This Program is a great opportunity for individuals, groups and corporations to give back to their communities in a highly visible way. Through this free program, participants will adopt an area of Pinellas County and receive the training and materials necessary to host their own cleanups. Adoptions greatly enhance the appearance of our communities and go a long way in reducing litter and debris from entering our waterways and polluting the natural habitats of our native wildlife. Community Improvement Projects
KPB engages residents to be a part of our community improvement initiatives to create positive change and a lasting impact within our local communities. We work with community leaders and interested parties (churches/schools/businesses, etc.) to organize projects throughout Pinellas County. These community projects can include cleanups, Florida native species plantings and gardens, tree plantings, invasive species removals, and mulching. As these events are scheduled, they are added to our Events Calendar and open for registration through our Upcoming Events Eventbrite. If you are interested in hosting a service project for your organization, school, company, etc., please complete our Community Project Inquiry Form.
Keep Pinellas Beautiful is passionate about cultivating future generations of environment stewards. We are excited to welcome students into our organization through a variety of programs. High School students can participate in our Bright Futures program by completing 100 volunteer hours with us to be in the running for KPB scholarships. High School students can also join our Youth Advisory Council where they will assist the organization in accomplishing our mission while developing professional skills and observing the inner workings of the nonprofit sector. College and continuing education students can participate in our Internship Program. KPB is looking for individuals who are passionate about engaging their community while spreading sustainable practices to join us as interns for a summer, fall, or spring semester, with opportunity to extend. There is a variety of positions available including Beautification, Environmental Conservation, Educational Programming, Event Preparation, Social Media and Grant Writing. Please contact us for more information on student involvement.
