TITLE: Program Assistant

REPORTS TO: Program Coordinator, Executive and Deputy Director

EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Full Time, In-person position, Tuesday-Saturday work week

SALARY: $33,000 - $36,000

DEADLINE: Monday, June 30th by 5:00 PM EST (Interviews will be conducted on a rolling basis)

 

Position Summary:

Keep Pinellas Beautiful is seeking a Program Assistant to assist and lead a variety of community improvement projects, manage program data and oversee our Hospitality Program engaging with members of the Hospitality industry. We are looking for an individual who is friendly, efficient, and comfortable being a member of a team. The ideal candidate for this job is cooperative, hard-working, resourceful, self-motivated and a self-starter. They are organized and are comfortable interacting with people of all ages.

Essential Functions:

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

Community Improvement Initiatives:

  • Lead litter abatement projects (including prep and supply return)

  • Assist with beautification projects (including prep and supply return)

  • Assist in preparation of Eventbrite registrations

  • Supporting supply drop off/pickups

  • Record all program data

 

Eco Partnership/Hospitality initiatives:

  • Assist in the expansion of the Hospitality Eco-Partnership Program

  • Recruit new members

  • Host webinars and training

  • Educate hospitality staff

  • Assist with the creation of program materials

  • Assist with online course administration

  • Assist with outreach events

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree with major course work in physical, natural or biological science, ecology, sustainable tourism, or related field

  • Efficient Microsoft Office programs

  • Agrees to use own vehicle to drive to events, projects and errands (KPB will reimburse mileage at state rate)

  • Ability to drive company trucks and trailers            

  • Ability to speak comfortably to an audience of all ages

  • Ability to lift and carry littered items, and project supplies (35- 50 lbs. weight)

  • Ability to bend and work in gardens

  • Demonstrates the ability to carry out tasks independently and with team members.

  • Organization and time management skills

 

Work Schedule:

The Project Assistant is a flexible position that requires a maximum 8 hours per day worked. The work hours will take place Tuesday-Saturday, 5 days per week with occasional evening and Sunday hours.
