Community Improvement

KPB actively engages residents in community improvement projects to clean and beautify Pinellas County. We work alongside local government and organizations to coordinate environmental projects such as land and waterway cleanups, native plantings, invasive vegetation removals and mulching. These collaborations empower the community to take action, leaving a meaningful and lasting effect on our natural environment.

Annual Cleanups

The Great American Cleanup

Every spring KPB hosts the Great American Cleanup (GAC), from March 1st to June 30th, working with thousands of volunteers to revitalize our county by removing litter and beautifying public spaces. The GAC includes a wide range of community events, such as park, beach, and waterway cleanups, gardening, native plantings, and invasive vegetation removals. As a signature event of Keep America Beautiful, the GAC aims to foster unity and strengthen community bonds as we join forces to improve and preserve the place we call home.

International Coastal Cleanup

For over 25 years, KPB has partnered with the Ocean Conservancy to host the International Coastal Cleanup (ICC) in Pinellas County from September 1st to October 31st. Our volunteers participate in this global initiative as citizen scientists by collecting, counting, and documenting the litter found along our coast.

The Big Cleanup Clearwater

Each fall, Keep Pinellas Beautiful and the City of Clearwater host The Big Cleanup Clearwater (BCC), the city’s largest community-wide cleanup event! The BCC is a family-friendly week-long event where all residents, businesses, visitors, and community organizations are invited to participate in cleaning our parks, trails, beaches, neighborhoods, and waterways. Join us in keeping Clearwater beautiful from bay to beach!
